Ecuador Avian Monitoring Volunteers

Volunteer Bird Banding in Ecuador

Assist Dr. Dusti Becker and other avian scientists with bird monitoring at Reserva las Tangaras in the biodiverse Ecuadorian Andes near the village of Mindo.  Volunteers help set up mist nets, extract birds from nets, record data at banding stations, and assist with bird surveys. The expedition includes training in bird banding and plenty of time to photograph and enjoy endemic species and as many as 25 different hummingbird species.  Volunteers are needed for July/August and December monitoring, each year.   Email Dr. Becker at dustizuni@yahoo.com for more information about the expeditions and how to apply for a team.
